How it works

1. Design it, installed

Pick “we measure and install it” at the first step of the designer, enter your sizes near enough, and watch one installed price update as you choose glass and hardware.

2. We book a check measure

Request a check measure at the end. Nothing to pay. We call you to book a time; the visit takes 15–20 minutes. Tiling must be finished and grouted and the base set.

3. Sizes and price confirmed

On site we measure every run with a 2 m level, check the door swing clears taps and towel rails, and photograph the walls. Your measurements are replaced by ours, and you get the confirmed price to approve.

4. Glass made

Once you approve and pay for the glass, your panels are cut, machined and toughened in 7–10 business days. We email you to book the installation.

5. Installed

We set the panels, hang the door, seal, clean the glass and walk you through the door adjustment and care. No shower for 24 hours while the silicone cures. The installation is paid when it’s done.

6. Covered

Our workmanship: 12 months, including adjustment and resealing. Hardware: the supplier's 12-month warranty against defects. Manufacturing defects in the glass: replaced.

What the installed price covers

  • The check measure visit: every run measured with a 2 m level, door swing and clearances checked, photos taken
  • The toughened glass panels, hinges, brackets or channel, handle, seals and silicone from your design
  • Carrying the glass in, setting the panels, hanging the door, sealing and cleaning (we set the fixed panels, then come back to hang the door once the silicone has cured)
  • Fixings chosen for your wall, with the waterproofing membrane photographed before we drill
  • A walk-through of door adjustment, cleaning and what not to use on the hardware
  • Rubbish and labels taken away

Add-ons, ticked in the designer

  • Remove and dispose of the old frameless screen$120.00
  • Remove and dispose of the old framed screen$180.00
  • Glass sits on a tiled hob$150.00
  • Upstairs or a long carry (two-person lift)$120.00
  • Extra panel to set on enclosures with more than two panels (corner, cubicle)$150.00 each
  • Return visit (site not ready), if the site isn't ready when we arrive$150.00

The check measure and your price

Sizes stay stock, layout unchanged

The price stands. Most screens land here.

A panel becomes made to order

A non-standard height or a wall more than 5 mm out of plumb means a custom-cut panel. The price is recalculated and shown to you before you approve.

Site not ready

Tiling not finished, base not set: no measure. We rebook, and the second trip is charged as a return visit ($150.00).

Paying happens in two parts: the glass and hardware once you approve the confirmed price, and the installation when it's done and you've signed it off. Custom glass can't be returned once it's made, so nothing is ordered before you approve.

Questions about installation

How long does the installation take?
A single fixed panel or a semi-frameless screen is fitted in one visit, usually under two hours. A frameless enclosure with a door takes two visits: we set the fixed panels first and come back to hang the door once the silicone has cured, so the hinges never load wet joints. Either way we check measure first, so count on two or three short visits in all.
When can I use the shower?
Not for 24 hours after we seal it, or whatever the silicone tube says if longer. We tell you the time when we leave.
Do you remove the old screen?
Yes, tick it in the designer: $120.00 for a frameless screen or $180.00 for a framed one, taken away and disposed of. Leave it in place until we come; it protects the tiles.
What if my walls aren't plumb?
That is what the check measure is for. We hold a level on every wall and along the base and cut the fixed panels to suit, so the glass sits flush to the wall and the door still swings true. You don't have to measure any of that yourself.
Can the installed price change after the check measure?
Only if the sizes or the layout change. If the confirmed sizes stay stock and the layout is unchanged, the price stands. If a panel becomes made to order (a non-standard height, or a wall more than 5 mm out of plumb), the price is recalculated and shown to you before you approve anything. Nothing is made until you've approved it.
Who does the work?
HBN Constructions, the Illawarra building company behind OrderGlass, NSW builder licence 376653C. We fit this glass on our own bathroom renovations, which is why the designer's sizes and allowances are the ones that work on site.
What does the check measure cost?
Nothing. If you decide not to go ahead after we've measured, you owe nothing. If the site isn't ready when we arrive (tiling unfinished, base not set) we rebook, and a second trip is charged as a return visit.
